Which Ba'tala faction (society) would you like to interact with first?
Only the Gods' blog is made at @godsofabrokenworld but still incomplete. The other societies are that of Creation (mortals).

Riko could feel everything inside her get tighter and more painful as she kept forcing herself to drink. More cracks and snaps rang out from her chest as her belly orb grew lopsided and deformed, stretching her torso out more and more as her eyes bulged out from the mounting pressure...
And then the hose was forced out of her again as she threw up a deluge of oil, sludge and blood. It was the worst feeling she'd ever felt... yet seeing Bocchi loom over her, placing a slight pressure on her middle and almost making her wretch again... it made her struggling heart skip a beat. "Hrglphk... H-... Hitoh... righ-changlph..." She'd sputter almost unintelligably. And who'd be surprised at that. She couldn't stand. She was bloated beyond human limits. Her mind was crashing. And yet... "...Hhhffrlgh... P-Pleashe... m-... mhake... meh... e-eshplodeglph...~"
"I-If I could ask... Bocchi-san a question? I can relate to you because I also consider myself somewhat of an introvert outside of my own interests... Do you also, um... struggle with your weight? I can't help but find food easy to fall back on more often than not..."
"E-eh thats...I suppose I do have an obligation to answer this if...uh...well you are like me" She blushes and looked down, her doughy body self-evident and pushing against her track suit. "I...do. I don't really move around that much and if I'm really nervous or scared then bingeing a lot of junk food helps" Her face turned scarlet red as she admitted that, the poor girl stifling a belch before she continued "I-Its great for those things...but I do have a habit of outgrowing clothes and...ch-chairs because of it. On account of uh...my weight skyrocketing..."

Currently working on a video test with OpenShot Video Editor, but I’m currently struggling with how to zoom, pan, and transition from one image to the other without everything turning to black. It’s frustrating.
Have some art from the video test, though it’s not all of it. I’m just proud of how they turned out.

Bulaklak (3/3)
"............."
"................................"
"So. What is your name?"
"........................."
"I am asking you a question."
"...............My name is Na'oki."
"No. That is the name your previous owner or slave driver or whoever gave you. You're a Tao, not a Mongrel, and I can tell. I know for a fact that is not your actual name. Now again. What is your name?"
"...........Bulaklak."
"Bu... la....ku..... la....ku..."
"...Na'oki will do just fine, Master."
"No! I mean no. That will not do at all. Please. I can do better than that. I will call you Na'oki when we are in public, perhaps, but when we are by ourselves, Bu-la-ku-la-ku will do. I will learn your name properly, I promise."
"...You... will promise... m-me??"
"I surely will! And you do not even have to wear your- Oh!! Oh....
“...Oh, for the love of the Gods... wait here."
"..............................................."
"Hah! The lads got in trouble just now and will have to do kitchen duty all day today! Fortune smiles upon us!!"
"D-Does it, Master?"
"Oh, please, do not 'Master' me. It's just us! Call me Miss Ezamin- or as a matter of fact, let us drop the formalities altogether. Call me 'Ezi'."
"..................................................."
"And I have a task for you already. We are going to take advantage of our time here while classes are done and the Rakoh men are tied up. Help me get my things to my beast and carry these flowers for me. We are going on a trip."
"A-Already, Master?"
"....."
"...Already, Ezi?"
"Yes! And trust me on this: you will love it. And Bulakulaku?"
“.......”
“You may remove your mask.”
“.............................”
“Th-.... Thank you so much, Ezi...”

favorite thing about them: his relation with the original demon is sooo so so interesting and such a cool concept that could potentially lead to some very good character development but um :))) sega are cowards! i also just love his personality in fever 2 i wish he were more like that in newer games </3
least favorite thing about them: we all know the answer to this one but i also hate that his outfits post fever 2 just. do not hit the same. its just not the same
favorite line: i liek when he goes “u” when he gets hitOH and also the naruhodou.. he does when hes talking to salde you know the one. when he crosses his arms. yeah
brOTP: sigsalde! i just think their dynamic is fun :-) i also like to think about potential sigraffi bond bc sig is snarky and strong and smart but not annoying like klug and raffinas like “oh this guys pretty alright actually” and she drags him into training in exchange for letting him ramble abt bugs (she doesnt mind... much) and then they make fun of lemres together. sigami is also good i think they are besties
OTP: i dont rly think much abt puyo ships but sigklug is pretty cute i think :-)
nOTP: the obvvious ones and any of him w a girl u_u
random headcanon: fuck dude idk. hes agender ace gay and is fine w any pronouns

HITOH, colección colaborativa Treino x Alexander Azukar

//OKAY, I DID ONE FOR PEPPY BECAUSE FUCK ME, IF I AM GOING TO DRAG TIGER DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE, I WILL DO IT FOR PEPPY TOO.
Tales of the Ba'tala: Definitely a Hitoh, Juheiho Caste, of the Ku'unehoh Clan. At a young age, Pepii was stationed in a company led by Je'imoseh of the Iinu with a Peperu as one of the GRA generals, but Je'imoseh decided to leave to do his own thing, taking Pepii and a Butaa soldier named Piguma with him. Unfortunately, Piguma, sick of the Iinu and definitely sick of Je'imoseh, turned to the one of scheming nobles of the Saruh Clan, notably Anodorufu, who sent members of the Saruh army to murder Je'imoseh as a message to send to the Iinu. By the time war broke out after the fall of the Empire, Je'imoseh is sympathetic to the struggling Iinu but decides to follow wherever the Song goes, with Je'imoseh's son Fa'ukosoh leading a new band in trying to maintain the local peace. Just to hammer home Peppy as part of a mercenary band who saved the galaxy, yes, I will say Pepii and his band of mercenaries did eventually aid the deliverance of Siquotia in their own way, on the side, besides the Song and the Champions of the Gods.
Devil's Eye: From one of the original American 13 colonies, likely born in one of the Carolinas (because bias, hurrr). Probably one of the militia under a James McCloud. Blah blah, some asshole tried to usurp their community, blah blah, James probably got killed, blah blah, assigned James' son James Jr. to be the leader of their band. Couldn't find a good Anglo name to replace "Peppy" because it'd likely be a nickname and not a real name, but "Pepito" is also a nickname and a variant for the different Spanish names for "Joseph". So, you know what, okay, Peppy's real name here is Joseph, and "Peppy" is a corruption of the Spanish "Pepe", as well as a indication of his peppy disposition until he mellowed out by the time of James' death. In regards to the Devil's Eye story itself, Peppy has heard of the story of the Devil's Eye and has no interest in pursuing such silly sailors' tales, nor was a stranger to pirates (hello, Blackbeard!). He did experience a raid by the Seven Deadly Sins and was horrified by the experience. But I doubt Peppy, or his band, would set out to sea to pursue the Eye or the 12 Keys of Emilio that keep it hidden unless James Jr. decides to do so.
The Angel Servant: Similar backstory to the DE one but moved to the late 1700s-early 1800s. Born and raised from the American South, "Peppy" and his band of mercs were touring England or France when they were offered a big juicy bounty hunting job in Venice. Composed of himself, James Jr. as his leader, and two other young folks (don't make me rename Falco and Slippy, Peppy was hard already) travelled to Venice on January of 1821 to accept the job from Graf von Abensberg und Traun. One day, [Slippy] vanished, and while Peppy was out searching for him, a chance encounter with Él Servitór dé Ànxeƚo ended with Peppy as a haunted and bewildered man. The next day, he, too, would vanish, into the depths of another plane of existence known as "Cuor"....
#//hoo boy this wasn't as difficult to write up lol#the only fact checking I had to do is to make sure the timeline of American history matches DE and AS#I know Star Fox was made in Japan but the fact that the characters are given Anglo names even in Japanese#gives a strong implication that they are Western-esque in culture#doesn't help that Peppy is consistently given what is an American Southern accent

//Right now I have an art goal I am going to try to accomplish, and that is to practice/master basic application of color theory and character design.
I know what color theory is; every single book, tutorial, and youtube essay on what it IS doesn't help me in trying to APPLY it in my artwork. That is until I have been watching videos on HOW wrong certain artists apply their colors ahem Bu t ch H a rtm an that I finally have direction, and now I want to try to apply this to both Devil's Eye and Ba'tala.
The levels of application will be different on virtue of Devil's Eye having human characters and Ba'tala having anthropomorphic animals. With Devil's Eye, the cast features a variety of different ethnicities, races, eye and hair colors, etc., so addressing color schemes will be a skillset unique to those elements. For example, I cannot give shades of green to Abena (a very dark-skinned woman) what shades I can give to Ravyn (a fair-skinned woman). Meanwhile, Phoebus' color scheme is fine as the Sin of Sloth (greens and blues to contrast his red hair), but I will always struggle with his twin brother Guy as the Sin of Lust (pinks to his red hair--a MAJOR no-no in color theory application unless he follows monochrome). So this one, I may have to observe existing examples of palettes seen in fashion and makeup to find the best color combinations to make everyone appealing.
Ba'tala's application of color will not just be different, but deliberately set to avoid certain trends and tropes I frankly cannot tolerate or stand when designing anthropomorphic characters, especially in furries. When I go back to my more recent art, while the lineart and anatomy has improved, the application of color never went past kindergarten wherein I'd just use every crayon in the box. In other words, my characters look like Lisa Frank rejects. But that tends to happen when a good number of the metaspecies have spots, stripes, or other patterns that will not jive well with textured, detailed clothing. So the challenge I hope to overcome is to balance simplicity without sacrificing authenticity in the metaspecies' most notable traits, such as Kitoah's feather spots or Ki'a's tabby stripes. All while not sacrificing features of ethnic clothing such tassels among the Hitoh and fringes with the Himmelia.
So it's a lot to focus on--so I am taking it one baby step at a time, starting with characters who are intended to draw the audiences' eyes the most often. I'll take as long as I have to. So expect loose and inconsistent character designs as I update. I'm sorry if I end up confusing everyone.

Did a bit more mapbuilding with @cappnrob's help, combining our knowledge with Earth's physical geography as a point of reference. While the World of the Ba'tala is modelled after ours, not everything will be consistent. Because the World was broken and put together at some point, and the Domains of the World such as Air, Earth, Water, and Fire, still belong to the dormant repective Gods, some things are deliberately (or not) really weird. I'm certain the jet streams do not follow a real consistent pattern, for example, as I mostly just eyeballed the directionality as per continental formation.
Details are still a work in progress; these are all general ideas, hence the weird colors and brushes.
Top Map: The political map. Where the territories are estimated all over the World as per kingdoms, tribes, and peoples. I should note that the borders will probably remain vague, at least in-universe; cartography was unrefinedd during this time period, not to mention the borders change even mid-story due to conquests and skirmishes. This is where I just need to write more and more of the story before I can decide on far more defined political boundaries, as this would be moreso relying on a timeline than things like climate and resources.
Tan Zone: Ca-Ri Ha-Taj; composed of the Jan-Taj, Pan-Log, and related tribes, and some U'lus/Po-Vo
Pink Zone: Stormig; composed of the Himmelia and Havvia
Purple Zone: Tep-Pas (lit. "Steppes"); composed of The U'lus
White Zone: Puso; composed of the Mikra, Taong Bundok, and Taong Gubat
Blue Zone: Siquotia; composed of the Hitoh
Green Zone: Kali; composed of Hitoh, Taong Bundok, and Taong Gubat
Middle Map: The climate zones and jetstreams. This will help climate patterns and how people build their societies. The latitudes are similar to our Earth, but the jetstreams are somewhat weird. I can attribute this to "The God of Water don't give a fuck" or the inconsistency is a result of the Broken World, but from what we made so far, I think this can be useable to determine how storms will affect certain coastlines.
Blue Zone: Polar regions. Composed of just ice.
Green Zone: Temperate zones
Red Zone: Tropic zones
Dotted Lines: Northern and Southern Tropic Lines
Solid Line: The Equator
Bottom Map: Generalized physical map. Generally faithful to real-world climate patterns as per continental formations and latitue, but also subject to weirdness due to the World being broken once upon a time.
Brown(ish) Dots: Mountains and their ranges
Gold Zones: Arid climates
Green Zones: Tropical climates
Blue Zones: Temperate climates

Lore: The afterlife (according to the Hitoh)
The Hitoh believe in reincarnation and the concept of karma. However, unlike Buddhist/Hindu beliefs of karma and reincarnation, there are no concepts of Heavens or Hells to pass through, nor will someone become a worm for bad karma or obtain Nirvana/Brahman with good. To go with the ideas of the Way of the Qaju (to be elaborated later), the nature of Hitoh's ideas of the afterlife are more nature-based and becoming one with the physical universe as well as the spiritual.
According to Hitoh belief, when a person has or is dying, a trio of wind spirits known as the Nubashi may be heard outside the dying person's door heralding the end of their life. Once the person dies, the Nubashi lead the soul to the nearest river, where they will wait to be taken down on a ghost ferry, captained by the Muhebo water spirits, by the start of the new spring (the beginning of the Hitoh year). The Spring Equinox is believed to be the Day of Judgement of the previous year's dead, as it is the day of Fire which the fire spirits Kitupo will judge where the dead ultimately go. If the deceased has good karma, they are taken by the Nubashi to be the clouds, as clouds are attendants of the Sun, the Holy God-King Qaju Himself. If the karma is bad, the deceased are taken into the Earth, to be forced into labor by the Earth God Toje, as tenders of the Roots of trees and crops. Reincarnation occurs once that next "life" is over and their time serving either God is up, and the soul is given another chance at life for higher existence. It is said that the cycle of reincarnation is over when a person has died with so much good karma, they are permanently a part of Qaju's court by becoming one of the Stars. A collection of bad karma would cast the soul into eternal Oblivion, the dark endless space beyond the Stars.
More on Hitoh faith to come later.

Sermon Among the Reeds (1/6)
“Ezi?”
“Yes, Bulakulaku?”
“I.... I want to hear about the Way of the Qaju. How... how it’s different from how the Tao worship the Gods.... especially if you left out the other Gods...”
“What do you mean?”
“You said the Way of the Qaju is about the Four Gods of the Elements and the God of the Sun... you mean the God of Light, yes?”
“Oh, uh....”
“I can take over, Miss Ezamina. Yes, we primarily worship the Four Elemental Gods and the God of Light, which most Hitoh understand as the God of the Sun.”
“What about the Two Moons?”
“Lesser Gods in our pantheon. Though I understand among the Tao that the God of Light, who is our Sun, also commands the Two Moons?”
“Yeah... Why do the Hitoh worship differently? Are the names of the Gods different too?”
“Yes, my friend. Though not without reason. I'm afraid the details may bore you, however..."
"No, tell me! I want to know! I'm curious!"
"Are you really?"
"I was taught by the priests in my village in Kali about the Gods. I wanted to become a shrine keeper. But...."
"....I see. Well. I will warn you. I am told I am very monotonous and droning and I may bore you to tears regardless."
"(Giggle). You're not boring, Pobu Gi'u!"
"Am I really not?"
"I don't think you're boring! Tell me about the Gods and why our people worship them differently! Why you think the Sun and Moons are different! And why you don't include the God of Life and the God of Chaos and Order!"
"....Very well. Let me tell you a Tale of the Ba'tala..."
